Ramakkalmedu is a hill station and small village in the Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. This place is famous for its beautiful panorama and many windmills. The statue is placed on top of Ramakkalmedu hill. Kuravan means tribe, Kurathi is his wife and mala means mountain. The two mountains combine to form the largest lake in the state, 550 feet high and 650 feet wide. It is the highest point of the mainland with a wind speed of 35 km/h in all seasons. This makes Rakkamedu an important agricultural district in Kerala.
